Parental Involvement ...

Care for Kindies Kindergarten is a family run business, and therefore holds high family morals and values,

especially in the growth of young children.

Our centres are built upon the principles of love and care of children, and we believe that family interaction

is an essential part of every child's emotional, spiritual and intellectual well-being. Each centre encourages

family interaction with an array of activities and special occasions.

Our 'open door policy' ensures that approved parents/caregivers may enter the centre at any time to

participate in activities with their children. Often parents arrange times to come in and initiate activities

with the children such as cooking and arts/crafts.

Parents are encouraged to take an active role in the centre by attending regular parent's nights meetings.

The meetings are designed for the benefit of parents as a time to provide further information on the

growth of their children. Previous parents' night topics have included; Child Nutrition, Behaviour

Management, School Readiness and Child Safety. Parents may also decide to join the Parent's

Accreditation Committee, whereby parents can take an active role in the accreditation of the centre and

make their input in the running of the centre.

Special occasions ...

At Care for Kindies, we take pride in the celebration of many special occasions including Mother's Day,

Father's Day, Multicultural Day, Halloween, Colour Week and Christmas.

The staff and children work together to develop a concert of singing, dancing and role playing, to be

displayed to parents and families at our Mother's and Father's Day concerts, Multicultural Day concerts

and Christmas Concert. This provides an opportunity for the children to expand their capabilities and put

on a performance, developing their confidence and self esteem.

Santa visits the centre at the Christmas concert, and each child receives an educational gift from Santa.

A graduation ceremony is also held at this concert, for those graduating into big school. The graduating

children are dressed in graduation gowns and hats, presented with certificates and individually engraved

medallions to publicly acknowledge their hard work throughout their time at Care for Kindies.

Care for Kindies recognises that all people come from different backgrounds and cultures, and celebrates

this diversity particularly on Multicultural Day. On this day, children are asked to dress up in the traditional

attire of any culture and participate in many different cultural activities.

The day is celebrated with a concert for families and parents, and all families enjoy an array of multicultural

food. This day provides a means for children to recognise, accept and celebrate that all people are

different and have many different cultural values.

On Halloween, children are asked to dress up in a special costume of their choice and the day is spent

with children enjoying an array of fun Halloween inspired festivities. Colour week also provides a means for

children to dress up, where a week is dedicated to celebrating colours, with each day of the week assigned

a different colour to wear. This enhances the child's intellectual development, as the child is able to

physically experience the different colours.
