Samantha Zammit is one of our superstar educators at Care for Kindies Leppington. Passionate and enthusiastic about early childhood education, she encompasses three roles, Educational Leader, 2IC and Preschool Room Leader!
“I have worked in childcare for 14 years, starting in 2007; the whole time has been with Care For Kindies Leppington. Working in early childhood education and care is very rewarding and as time passes, I feel myself getting more patient and knowledgeable about children and the different ways they learn.
Leaving school, I was not sure what I wanted to do. During an agency interview for office work, I was told they thought I would be a perfect early childhood educator and sent me to Care For Kindies. I never looked back!
One of the unique things I bring to my role at CFK is my personality. An educator’s personality definitely impacts a child’s learning process. I tend to be very positive and outgoing which helps me to really connect with children and capture their attention. I share my enthusiasm for learning with children, which in turn helps them find learning fun.
My favourite part of the job is the feeling you get that at the end of every day that you have made a difference in a child’s life, along with the relationships you form with children and families and all the laughs! Children bring a lot of love, happiness and light into this world and I really enjoy playing and watching them grow. In fact, I’m still in contact with children I taught years ago when they were 3!
Each day is unique with many children coming on different days of the week. I always arrive to lots of smiles and hugs and typically will spend my day engaging with children in play and discussions to facilitate and guide them to extend on their learning and achieve learning outcomes. I love the long term relationships I have developed with families and children and the feeling I have made a significant and positive impact on children’s lives. I also think it is an achievement to have worked in an industry for such a long time!”
