"Strong Social Sense" is the Term 2 focus across all Care for Kindies centres.
The second term is an opportunity to focus on the sense of belonging, social rules, roles, responsibilities, society values, patience, strengthening emotional resilience. We begin to introduce children to letters and numbers.
Everything connected to this focus is taught at age-appropriate levels and therefore will differ between age groups and rooms at our centres.
Here are the outcomes by age group for our focus this term:
Age 0-2:
- Engage in increasingly complex sensory-motor skills and movement patterns
- Use sensory capabilities to explore and respond to their world
- Use play to investigate,project and explore new ideas
Age 2-3:
- Begin to initiate negotiating and sharing behaviours
- Demonstrate increasing awareness of the needs and rights of others
- Increasingly co-operate and work collaboratively with others
- Become aware of connections, similarities, and differences between people
Age 3-4:
- Listen to others’ ideas and respect different ways of being and doing
- Develop the ability to recognise unfairness and the capacity to act with kindness and compassion
- Develop understanding of group responsibilities

Age 4-5:
